Asahi Kasei Microdevices Corporation's (AKM) premium audio ADC: the AK5572 has been adopted in iriver Ltd's (iriver) new portable recorder unit, Astell&Kern the AK Recorder released on the 7th October 2016.

The AK Recorder is a portable recorder unit, designed to be used in combination with high-resolution portable audio player (AK300 series) products, that supports DSD 5.6MHz/PCM 32-bit/384kHz recording. It is capable of recording sounds and users can playback instantly with such as AK380 player. The A/D converter block of Astell&Kern employs AKM's AK5572.

121dB 768kHz/32-bit 2ch Premium High-end A/D Converter

AK5572EN The AK557x series is a 32-bit, 768 kHz sampling, differential input A/D converter for digital audio systems. It achieves 121 dB dynamic range and 112 dB S/(N+D) while maintaining low power consumption performance. The AK5572 integrates a 2-channel A/D converter, suitable for mixers and multi-channel recorders. Four types of digital filters are integrated and selectable according to the sound quality preference.
