2016-09-16 | Return

TOKYO – Toshiba Corporation (TOKYO: 6502) today announced that its wireless power receiver IC, “TC7766WBG” has been certified as Qi[1] v1.2 EPP (Extended Power Profile) compliant by the Wireless Power Consortium (WPC). TC7766WBG is the only 15W Qi certified receiver IC in the industry[2].

TC7766WBG also has the smallest package[2] of any Qi v1.2 compliant one-chip receiver, which contributes to the easy realization of compact Qi v1.2 receiver systems. In addition, by accessing the TC7766WBG registers via I2C interface[3], the TC7766WBG provides the flexible control and system design.

Toshiba has two Qi v1.2-compliant receivers: TC7766WBG-M000 for 15W; and TC7766WBG-M010, which is compliant with the Baseline Power Profile for 5W. Both ICs are in mass production.

Main Features

>WPC Qi v1.2 compliant

>Maximum output power: 15W

>Maximum output current: 1.7A

>Output voltage settings: 5V to 14V

>Various protection functions

>I2C interface[3] compatible: The receiver side host controller can exchange information with a compatible transmitter and access TC7766WBG’s operation status registers via an I2C interface. This can, for example, allow users to be notified of the wireless charging status in the display of a mobile device.

Application

Mobile devices (Smartphones, feature phones, tablets), industrial devices etc.
