New Cree LN Series Luminaire Now Available
2016-06-09 | ReturnDURHAM, N.C. -- The award-winning Cree (Nasdaq: CREE) LN Series suspended luminaire is now available to ship. With its stunning architectural design and breakthrough WaveMax™ Technology, the Cree® LN Series suspended luminaire creates better light from every angle: beautiful and efficient, simple to install, and unexpectedly affordable. Unlike direct linear lighting, this new technology solution from Cree eliminates glare and unattractive ceiling contrasts known as the “cave effect,” in which ceilings appear darker than the work spaces below, causing potential discomfort and eyestrain.
“Cree continues to demonstrate that LED technology can provide fundamentally superior light experiences that go beyond energy and maintenance savings, to help improve your comfort, productivity and safety,” said David Elien, Cree senior vice president, lighting. “The Cree® LN Series suspended luminaire challenges the possibilities of today’s lighting, with a stunning new form factor that’s intelligent in both design and function, delivering a game-changing combination of control, uniformity and efficiency for the finest visual experience.”
As the first indirect/direct luminaire from Cree, the LN Series delivers 60 percent of its light upward to dispel the striped ceiling contrasts common with direct and indirect uplight fixtures, resulting in superb illumination to the task surface for greater productivity and heightened alertness. Boasting a unique modular light engine for easier job design, specification and installation, the new Cree LN Series suspended luminaire is perfect for both new construction and retrofit applications.
“The Cree® LN Series luminaire creates uniform lighting on work surfaces and its ability to dim allows for flexibility in daily tasks. The form of the light is simple and the lens allows daylight to shine through when the lights are turned off,” said Jeffrey Paine, Founding Partner at Duda|Paine Architects in Durham, NC.
Destined to become an architectural icon, the Cree LN Series luminaires offer superior 4:1 ceiling uniformity with up to 90 percent optical efficiency. Cree engineers used a unique approach to lighting optics, utilizing Cree’s patented WaveMax Technology, resulting in fixtures delivering up to 115 LPW at a 90+ color rendering index (CRI), with up to 3700 lumens at 3500K or 4000K. The engineers developed a modular design to simplify installation and improve architect, lighting designer and specifier freedom with increased spacing between luminaires. The highly efficient LN Series luminaire enables exceptionally quiet ceilings for beautiful, vibrant spaces, at a price aimed to drive adoption. The luminaire can be easily installed in runs of up to 136 feet continuous rows with a single power feed, utilizing simple 2-screw connections between each fixture.
In addition to standard 0-10V dimming, the LN Series is also available with Cree SmartCast® Technology, Cree’s industry-leading intelligent light solution, providing a combination of extreme energy productivity and a more personalized light experience that’s so intuitive and simple, it just works. With SmartCast Technology, occupants experience intelligent light at an affordable price, creating a customizable lighting environment that can save more than 70 percent in energy costs over outdated linear fluorescent lighting.
The Cree LN Series suspended luminaire features a 10-year limited warranty – double that of most industry competitors, and is available to order and ship now. Visit http://lighting.cree.com/products/indoor/surface-suspended/ln-series to learn more.
