Murata announces GRT series, automotive-grade monolithic ceramic capacitors
2016-01-27 | Return1/27/2016
Murata Manufacturing Co., Ltd.
President/Statutory Representative Director:
Tsuneo Murata
Overview
Murata Manufacturing Co., Ltd. today announced the development and launch of its GRT series of automotive-grade monolithic ceramic capacitors. These capacitors meet the AEC-Q200 reliability test standard requirements established by the Automotive Electronics Council.
Background
Murata’s capacitors have been traditionally used in applications in three main fields: general applications, automotive powertrain safety applications, and implanted medical devices. Due to increasing demand the GRT series have been developed for use in the automotive infotainment and comfort-and-convenience industries.
Recent years have witnessed an ever-rising demand for automotive-grade monolithic ceramic capacitors that meet the requirements of the AEC-Q200 automotive electronic component standard, inspiring Murata to develop and commercialize the GRT series. The series consists of capacitors with 299 part numbers for temperature-compensating, and 519 part numbers with a high dielectric constant, for a total of 818 part numbers. These components are designed to enhance reliability and reduce physical sizes for infotainment and comfort-and-convenience applications that are required to meet the AEC-Q200 standard.
Features
The table below compares some examples of the test conditions the GRM series and GRT series are subjected to, demonstrating that the GRT series satisfies the test conditions compliant with the AEC-Q200 standard.
