[General Description]
32-bit Advanced Stereo D/A Converter with Headphone Amplifier
DR,S/N: 125dB THD+N: -106dB Support up to 384kHz Sampling Rate
[Applications]
Portable Audio (Smartphones, Tablets, Portable Music Players and etc.)
[Description]
Since the market demands for high quality sound for smartphones and potable music players are increasing by the growing availability of high-resolution sound sources, Asahi Kasei Microdevices Corporation (AKM), a leading supplier of high quality portable audio, launched the AK4376 that adopts VELVET SOUND (TM) technology.
This 32-bit advanced D/A converter (DAC) with a headphone amplifier is a higher performing solution of the AK4375A that is adopted by many portable audio products since it was launched in 2014. The AK4376 achieves -106dB THD+N and 125dB SNR, the best performance in the field as a compact DAC with headphone amplifier for portable audio products. The digital input format corresponds to high resolution sound sources and supports PCM input up to 384 kHz.
The AK4376 has been introduced in CES2016 that is held from 6th Jan. at Las Vegas, NV, USA.
● Realizing the Highest Performance of Sound Quality in the industry
The AK4376 achieves -106dB THD+N and 125dB SNR, the best performance in the field as a compact DAC with headphone amplifier for portable audio products. Reproducible performance of original acoustic sounds is also improved, showing -100dB or better performances in all audible bands.
● Live Acoustic Sound by VELVET SOUND (TM) Technology
The AK4376 realizes fine sound detail playback by “VELVET SOUND (TM)” technologies such as OSRD (Over Sampling Ratio Doubler) and AKM’s original filter for switched capacitors technologies adopted in AKM premium DACs for high-end audio products. Four different types of 32-bit digital filter are selectable according to the user audio and system preferences.
● Small Package and Low Power Consumption for Portable Devices
The AK4376 is housed in an ultra-small 36-pin CSP package (2.74mm x 2.56mm), enabling premium performance in a very small footprint. In addition, a low power consumption that is necessary for portable devices is achieved by the advanced audio technology for smartphones. The AK4376 can be driven off of a 1.8V single power supply. It is ideal for various systems including portable applications.
