NICHICON PCZ Series of 150℃ Chip-Type

The new series will be exhibited at Power System Japan 2019, held at Makuhari Messe from Wednesday, April 17, to Friday, April 19.
Overview and Development Background
The automotive and related fields have been accelerating the usage of electronic components, driven by the shift to electric vehicles and the spread of advanced driver assistance systems (ADAS). Demand for highly reliable capacitors that operate at high temperatures has increased with the installation of control boards, such as electronic control units (ECUs), in the engine compartment.
Conductive polymer aluminum solid electrolytic capacitors feature lower ESR and higher allowable ripple current compared with aluminum electrolytic capacitors, but they were limited in their usable temperature range.
The PCZ series guarantees operation of 2,000 hours at 150℃ by further enhancing the high heat resistance technology used in the PCH series that guarantees operation at 135℃.
Features
The development of the PCZ series has includes the optimization of the components of the current PCH series, including conductive polymers, improvement of the self-healing features of aluminum oxide films, and refinement of the sealing technology. These upgrades have helped achieve a guaranteed operation for 2,000 hours at 150℃, while maintaining the features of conductive polymer aluminum solid electrolytic capacitors including low ESR and high allowable ripple current. The rated voltage range is 25V to 35V DC, the rated capacitance range is 100µF to 330µF, and the dimensions of the product lineup range from φ8 x 10L to φ10 x 12.7L.
