AMPMODU 2 mm wire-to-board IDC receptacle platform positions TE Connectivity as full portfolio provider for customers

TE now offers a wider range of solutions as a one-stop shop within 2 mm portfolio.

TE Connectivity, a world leader in connectivity and sensors, is introducing the AMPMODU 2 mm (.079”) wire-to-board receptacle assembly. The assembly offers pre-loaded discrete-wire insulation displacement contacts (IDC), which contribute toward streamlined implementation and reduced installation costs. The pre-loaded IDCs enable fast termination with no need to strip the wire. Instead, the wire can be applied with a manual or pneumatic pistol grip tool, which has a low implementation cost and is easy to operate.

“The AMPMODU 2 mm wire-to-board IDC receptacle platform will position TE as the only supplier in the market with a pre-loaded discrete-wire IDC receptacle,” says Rock Lv, product manager at TE Connectivity. “This goes a long way in growing our portfolio to meet our customer’s evolving needs.”

Board miniaturization is a trend that continues to impact machine design all over the world. With the 2 mm IDC assembly addition, TE now offers customers a comprehensive portfolio of solutions in small, slim board-to-board and wire-to-board applications — meaning customers can streamline their supply chain and source all the miniaturization components necessary from one reliable provider.

The AMPMODU 2 mm connectors reliably and economically meet the packaging and interconnection requirements of today's miniature sophisticated electronics, occupying 38 percent less space than traditional 2.54 mm [0.100”] centerline connectors. In addition, the housing is available with a detent latching option for greater connection reliability.

The AMPMODU 2 mm IDC receptacle assembly is ideal for applications such as PLC/IO devices, servo drives, industrial controls, material handling, energy storage systems, warehouse automation and instrumentation and test equipment.
