EDEN PRAIRIE, Minn. … Power management company Eaton today announced the launch of its new FT1380e electronic crimper, a first-of-its-kind, all-in-one hose assembly crimp machine designed to deliver a new level of precision. An evolution of Eaton’s top selling FT1380 crimper, this latest advancement helps reduce assembly time, operator error and waste due to pre-loaded crimp specs and color assembly photos displayed for easy validation and accuracy.

Featuring updated LED lighting for enhanced visibility, Eaton’s FT1380e crimper boasts a sleek, modern design with a built-in touchscreen and intuitive interface. It also includes an integrated help feature with a tutorial and manual to ensure users are supported every step of the way.

“Hose distributors and production facilities are constantly exploring new ways to meet customer crimping needs while ensuring that demands for efficiency and production are satisfied,” said Barb Thompson, product manager, Hydraulics, Eaton. “The all-electronic FT1380e crimper is engineered to help users strike a better balance, building off the high standards established by the top selling FT1380 with the addition of unlimited favorites storage and an easy-to-set variable retract position, which cuts down on assembly time and speeds up production runs by minutes.”

The powerful FT1380e machine crimps up to 1¼-inch (-20) 6-wire spiral hydraulic hose and utilizes Eaton’s standard FT1380 variable crimp tooling. With this solution, all of Eaton’s core products will crimp in-spec, out of the box and without offsets.
